The Frost Museum of Science opened in its new location in Museum Park in 2017. Complete with an impressive planetarium, three-story aquarium, exciting exhibitions, and learning centers, the six-level museum in Downtown Miami is not be missed.

Getting There

The Frost Museum of Science is less than a mile away from YVE Hotel Miami on Biscayne Boulevard in Museum Park. A sidewalk stretches the length of the boulevard up to Museum Park, providing easy access if you’re traveling on foot, while the free Metromover transit system also brings you right to the entrance. To get to the Frost Museum of Science from the hotel, head north on Biscayne Boulevard and take a left on 3rd Street. The College Bayside Metromover Station will be on your right. Take the Metromover up four stops until you reach the Museum Park metro station, and you’re there.

The Aquarium

Dive in Deep

The three-story aquarium is worth the trip alone, exposing the different water habitats of South Florida. The habitats at the top level include the Gulf Stream, mangroves, and the Everglades. Deeper down, guests get a glimpse of underwater views and face-to-face encounters with live animals native to Florida. If you’re visiting Miami, this is a dynamic way to connect with the nature of Florida and is sure to amaze.

The Planetarium

Laser Light Shows & Space Voyages

Another exhibit that can’t be missed at the Frost Museum of Science is the Planetarium. The Frost Planetarium is one of the most advanced of its kind, with a 250-seat full dome complete with a 16-million-color, 8K projection system. Shows are outstanding and offer a nearly 360-degree view of outer space. Make sure to check out their Friday night laser events, held the first and third Friday of the month. Sit back and enjoy a laser light show to the tune of Pink Floyd.
