You can't see all of Miami in a day, but that doesn't mean you can't try. If you're with us in the Magic City for just a short time, whether for a business trip, catching a cruise, or attending a wedding, there's still plenty you can pack into one day. Our YVE Hotel Miami day guide brings you to the Art Deco streets of South Beach to downtown shopping and live music in Little Havana.
Morning
After breakfast at our onsite Biscayne Tavern, grab a taxi or call an Uber to get to South Beach in time to enjoy a 90-minute Art Deco Walking Tour. Tours provided by the Miami Design Preservation League provide an introduction to architectural styles from Art Deco to Miami Modern, all found within the Miami Beach Historic District (right near the beach). The tour includes background on hotels, restaurants, and some interiors. Tours begin at 10:30 daily and end at noon, right when you'll be ready for a quick lunch at La Sandwicherie, a South Beach favorite located a block from the water. Gourmet sandwiches, salads or smoothies will keep you moving throughout your day.
Afternoon
Check out a different viewpoint of Miami by departing South Beach via Miami Water Taxi. Dolphins are not unusual to see, and you can also check out yachts, mansions, and other activity on the Bay while in transit. Taxi schedules are available on the water taxi website and depart SoBe from the Miami Beach Marina (#protip: a 1:30 departure should work perfectly with your schedule). The taxi will drop you off at the Bayside Marketplace, just minutes from YVE Hotel Miami. Check out the shops at Bayside and then head over to the trendy Brickell neighborhood and Brickell City Centre for upscale boutiques and retailers.
Evening
After taking advantage of Downtown Miami’s shopping scene, it’s time to wind down the evening in Little Havana. Watch local retirees play dominoes at Máximo Gómez Park (they’re used to spectators), see how cigars are made at El Titan de Bronze, and enjoy a flan-flavored ice cream from Azucar Ice Cream Company. It’s only appropriate that you eat dinner at Versailles, “The World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant.” This Calle 8 landmark restaurant is a James Beard Award-winner and Miami staple that isn’t just for tourists. Most importantly, save room for dessert! Versailles doesn’t mess around with their pastries, and you won’t want to miss out!
Night
If you're feeling the good vibes of Little Havana, meander over to the Ball & Chain for live music and excellent mojitos. All ages gather at this lively spot. Also check out a more intense Latino nightclub, Hoy Como Ayer. The High Note Jazz Club is a great option for live jazz music and the shows at the community’s performing art center, Cubaocho, never disappoint. Closer to the hotel, Downtown Miami is a premier spot for nightclubs or nightcaps. E11even is a famed nightclub that runs 24/7 and occupies 20,000 square feet. Another downtown favorite is Club Space - a space-themed venue that features electronic music, light shows, and a rooftop terrace. Black Market Miami is a sports pub for a late night bite or a brew, and Blackbird Ordinary is a downtown favorite for cocktails in a lounge setting.
